Home computer work has been a part of my life a long time now. When I first started learning the online digital word, it was 'back in the day' when I was already starting to feel like an 'old dog' learning new tricks.

As many of you know, my husband and I have been serving as missionaries in Australia since 1997. It's mostly been ministry work, of course, but over time, I started looking for something to supplement our missions support as the economy changed (and our support didn't).

Even back when I started looking online for some home computer work to do in my spare time, there was a lot of rubbish to wade through. It's only gotten worse over time.

However, it has also gotten better. By that I mean that, as the internet has developed and grown, amazing opportunities have arisen for people to start an online business or use the technology available to offer products and services, write books, or even reach countless people with the Gospel, who you would never otherwise meet. I'm still amazed by it all.

The Many Iterations Of Home Computer Work

I have done and am doing so many different forms of Home Computer Work over the years.

Building Content Rich Websites

When I first began trying to build a successful home based business, I started by learning about website building and affiliate marketing. I built a few sites in addition to this one:

Chocolate Candy Mall - closed it down in 2022
All About Parasites and Inner Health - still active but not technically mine any longer

I really loved learning and building those sites but circumstances in my life changed with various health emergencies with my parents and husband and I just couldn't keep up with it all at the time.

The Lord is so gracious to me, and even though I decided to let those websites go, I kept this one and eventually started learning new skills and trying out different opportunities.

Teaching English Online

During late 2019, I actually started teaching English as a second language online to adorable young children in China. Teaching was a LOT of fun and kept me very busy in the evenings for two years. That came to an end when China banned foreign teachers for a time.

Print On Demand and Etsy

As I began looking for some other type of home computer work in early 2022, I started learning about the opportunities with Etsy. Because I don't live in the States, wondered if it was viable. And then I discovered POD or Print on Demand services.

I love it! I am able to create designs and then pair them with different print on demand products and offer them for sale in my Etsy store. I've mostly stuck with designing coffee mugs, but I sometimes add other products, too, to test the waters. (I did play with my own Shopify store for a while, but ended up just sticking with Etsy.)

My Most Recent Home Computer Work Ventures

You probably think I'm a little bit nuts by now, and you could very possibly be right. I think the trouble I have is that I love learning and I have to have something to occupy my mind and time that feels worthwhile.

I must also get easily distracted by the next entrepreneurial shiny opportunity, because I keep jumping into new ones with both feet. Here are my latest and most recent Home Business Start Ups:

Storybook Hut - my children's audio library of kids picture books that I have narrated and made into videos for parents and grandparents to safely use with their children. One new book is released each day. That keeps me hopping!
Simply Angie Digital Marketing & Consulting - I help local businesses (anywhere) generate leads in their local area for their service business, create their Google Business Profiles and help them rank in their map packs, and manage their social media marketing.

There are a lot of opportunities for those who want to learn and grow. I do enjoy it and I hope and pray that I can be a blessing to others in the process. Even doing home computer work, you'd be surprised how much opportunity God gives you to share His Word and His love with others if you are open to His leading.
